MESA POWER'S AMERICAN WIND ALLIANCE

Mesa Power Group founded the American Wind Alliance in 2009. The objective of this endeavor is to drive continued growth in the wind industry by acquiring and then completing the development of wind projects in North America. During the past several months, Mesa Power and the American Wind Alliance have successfully acquired more than 500 megawatts of high-quality wind projects and continue to consider new wind projects for acquisition that meet its selection criteria.

The American Wind Alliance is seeking to acquire and support projects that meet the following criteria:

Minimum nominal, nameplate capacity of 100 megawatts each
Minimum 12 months, on-site wind data
Competitive interconnect position
Demonstrated potential for contracted off-take
Reasonable ability to achieve project financial closure no later than December 12, 2012
Suitable for GE turbines
Developer has secured land control

Mark Ward

Ward, a Mesa Power executive with more than 25 years experience, reports to T. Boone Pickens. He has been with the company since its formation in 2007. He is responsible for developing and managing Mesa Power and its renewable energy businesses. Mesa Power owns more than 600 megawatts of wind projects in later stages of development throughout North America and is a member of the Synergy Renewables joint venture that develops waste-to-energy projects. Prior to Mesa Power, Ward served in senior management positions for several regulated and unregulated utilities and engineering and construction firms that included business and project development, asset management, regulatory affairs, and resource planning. Ward graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Cole Robertson

Robertson, a Mesa Power executive, joined the company in June of 2008. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s financing, analytical, accounting, financial reporting and tax activities. Robertson has a background in United States GAAP and, specifically, investment company accounting procedures. His duties include arranging project financing structures, fundamental analysis of the power markets, operational management of the accounting and tax processes, corporate governance, and compliance. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in accounting and a Master’s of Science degree in finance. Additionally, he is a CPA licensed in the state of Texas. Prior to joining Mesa Power Group, Robertson worked for Ernst & Young in their Assurance and Advisory Business Services’ asset management practice.
